What’s new?

Amateur Radio changes at every turn. If you’ve had your license for a while but haven’t been active in the hobby, there’s a lot that’s changed and a lot that’s stayed just the way you like it. You’ll reconnect with old friends or find a whole host of new ones.

Here's a quick run-down of the last 20 or so years:

• Morse Code is no longer required.
• There are more bands available.
• Licensing has changed to three levels, Foundation, Standard and Advanced, but if you already passed your license, you're likely good to go.
• Lots of Digital Modes have been invented helping weak signal detection with excellent performance on noisy HF bands.
• Software Defined Radio
